Start or finish your special day with an exclusive trip to Salisbury Plain with a private Stonehenge Inner Circle Tour. This exclusive tour allows you to get up close and personal with the ancient stones. Archeologists and scientists have been studying this prehistoric site for centuries and still haven't completely fathomed the true meaning and function of the site.

Travel in comfort through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and look out for ancient burial mounds in the landscape as you head towards the enigmatic Salisbury Plain—home of the famous stones. If you're really lucky you might spot a crop circle or two (depends if the combine harvesters have been out!).

Your first stop-off point is Woodhenge, where you'll see pillars marking the positions of Neolithic wooden posts aligned to the summer solstice sunrise. Next, visit Durrington Walls, the site of an ancient henge. These are important World Heritage Sites and will certainly whet your appetite for the main attraction—Stonehenge.

Stonehenge is the most famous and enigmatic historical site in Britain. Developed in stages over a 5,000 year period, the giant standing stones weigh up to 50 tonnes and dominate the landscape of Salisbury Plain. Was it a ceremonial temple… or built by aliens? You decide.

Stonehenge Inner Circle Tours last for an hour and take place in the early morning or evening, outside normal visiting hours. They're also subject to very limited availability, with a maximum of 30 people per session so you'll need to book in good time.

On site is the fabulous Stonehenge Visitor Centre where (if your time slot allows) you can further explore the mysteries of the ancient stones. Here you'll enjoy world-class exhibitions and multi-media displays. Outside there are reconstructed Neolithic houses where if you might see ancient crafting demonstrations and bread-making using prehistoric techniques.

You'll probably be feeling peckish by now so it's off to a traditional English pub for lunch. We suggest The Wheatsheaf at Lower Woodford, a lovely wood-panelled pub with a garden and play area for children, serving snacks and British comfort food. They usually have a good range of beers on too! You'll get to see more of the countryside as we take the scenic route back.

Pickup Times and Lunch

If you choose the sunrise Inner Circle tour, pickup for your day tour will be early morning at 5am. For the sunset tour drop-off will be around 10pm depending on the actual time of the year. Times will be confirmed upon booking and based on your pickup/drop-off location.

​For lunch, your driver will happily suggest a number of options to choose from on the day. There know some excellent traditional country pubs which are well worth a visit.

Lacock Abbey & Village: The quaint unspoilt village with historic cottage lined streets is a popular combination with the Stonehenge Inner Circle Tour. The abbey was founded in the thirteenth century and has a Tudor stable courtyard, which retained many of its original features.
